Investigating Durability

In Science, the children investigated the best type of rock for a new paved area of the school. They carried out a rub test using sandpaper to find out which rock was the most hard-wearing. 

Grouping Rocks according to their characteristics 

In our science lessons, we have been exploring a range of different rocks. We used magnifying glasses to look carefully at the range of rocks we had been given and then began using adjectives to describe the characteristics of the rocks. After this, we used venn diagrams and carroll diagrams to sort the rocks.
