Supporting phonics at home
In class the children take part in a 20 minute daily phonic lesson, group reading sessions and will bring home a selection of phonic resources and books weekly. This link will open information for parents, however, please look out for the parent workshops taking place in school, which will provide a deeper understanding of how to support your child's reading and writing.

Maths in school
In class the pupils in EYFS and year 1 both take part in daily Mastering Number sessions. These are taught in single year groups. Information about this program can be found below at through attending the parent workshops in school.
In addition to the Mastering number sessions, pupils in Year 1 also take a longer daily maths lesson which follows the Whiterose scheme.
Each half term all pupils take part in lessons which teach the different aspects of problem solving.
Maths at home
At home we encourage pupils to engage with learning set on Google Classroom. For EYFS pupils, practical activities linked to the weekly Mastering Number are set for you to use should you wish to do so. For Year 1 pupils, weekly tasks are set through the Mathletics App. Your child will receive login details for this when starting in year 1 onwards. All home learning tasks are designed to consolidate weekly learning.
