Throughout Autumn Term 2, our class have explored the roles and responsibilities held by various women of colour at NASA during the 'space race'.
Our class text allowed us to create letters, memoirs and to explore the history of Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan, Katherine Johnson and Christine Darden and their participation in some of NASA's greatest achievements.
We took time to link this to careers in the past, exploring how the women fought for their roles and had a desire to live out their dreams as experts in maths, in the present by exploring how employment rights have ensured people can work in their chosen sector without prejudice, and for the future, considering what our achievements might be when we grow up.
