Visit from a historian

During national storytelling week, we had a visit from Siobhan Goodwin to tell us the local legend of the Worminster Dragon. The children loved hearing about how Bishop Joycelyn came out of his home, the Bishop's Palace, to save the day. We learnt that the dragon is remembered every 50 years to stop it returning. We looked on local maps to see where the dragon's home was in relation to our homes and school as well as completing a range of exciting activities.
