School Clubs

Football Club is run by our teachers Mr Schwartz and Mr Justin. The football team participate in many tournaments against other local schools. They are always a credit to the school, playing as a team and showing great sportsmanship. The children play football most break and lunchtimes on the field and formal training takes place after school.

Cross Country

Our cross country team are very talented children. They run at a number of events each year competing against local schools. Mrs Chandler organises the cross country team, and they train in the run-up to events. There are upper school (Yr 5/6) and lower school (Yr 3/4) distances. Events take place at Millfield,

Downside, Collett Park and more!

On Tuesday 29th January 2020, Mrs Chandler accompanied the cross country team to Downside for the third fixture of the season. The weather conditions were not good. We had rain, snow, lots of mud and it was extremely cold. The children were as enthusiastic as ever and keen to start their races. A big well done to all who took part and thank you to their supportive parents for braving the inclement weather.

On Tuesday 5th March 2020, Mrs Chandler accompanied the cross country team to the fourth fixture of the season at Tor Leisure in Glastonbury. We have one more fixture on the 26th of March but at this stage, we are in 1st place for the small schools award. This is an amazing achievement from our dedicated team this season.

Street Dance

Street Dance and County & Maypole Dancing club takes place after school. It is run by Miss Ashworth. The children really enjoy street dance and they perform at The Wells Blue Dance Festival in March, Maypole Dancing at the May Day celebrations in the town square and at the Somerset Folk Dancing Festival on the Cathedral Green in June.
