Attendance Summary

I have lived in Wells with my husband and daughter since 2010, having previously worked in Bristol. I’m a self employed mortgage professional. We have a daughter that attended the school and has now moved onto St Gregory’s Catholic College in Bath. With work, plus my daughter’s dance and performing arts commitments, life is pretty hectic for us. I was involved with the school PTFA for a number of years and I am now privileged to be a Foundation Governor and continue to support the school.

Paula Beasley – Foundation Governor

I have been associated with St Joseph and St Teresa's Catholic Primary since 1971, when I became a member of the teaching staff, and I have enjoyed over thirty happy years as both a teacher and a Headteacher. During this time our three children thrived at St Joseph and St Teresa's and now our grandchildren continue to do so.  Having retired in July 2006, the opportunity to become a governor of the school in 2019 has given me the chance to use my experience to further support the school community. I look forward to working together with the Governing Body, the Head Teacher and members of staff to ensure that St Joseph and St Teresa’s continues to be a safe and happy place in which to learn, and one which enables our pupils to achieve their full potential.

As the current Chair of the PTFA committee, I have always tried to do my part to help the school with fundraising and any events that require parental help. I run my own business, so I have an understanding of financial planning and find it easy to work with others. Prior to this, I was an Operations Manager for a marketing agency responsible for the daily running of the business. I have been involved within St Jo’s for the last 6 years and will continue to be over the coming 6 years to benefit the children and the school itself.

Andrew O'Sullivan - Parent Governor

Term of Office: 05/10/2020 - 05/10/2024

As a secondary English teacher with 12 years experience across three schools (currently Wells Cathedral School), I have first-hand knowledge of providing excellent education in the classroom. This, together with my extensive involvement in extra-curricular and pastoral provision, gives me real understanding of the vital work done by school leadership that allows teachers and students opportunities to achieve their potential. I will aim both to help nurture and develop the fantastic things already being done at St. Joseph’s, and to be an effective, sympathetic and dedicated member of the team which will guide the school to further innovation and success.

Melanie Clark - Clerk to the Governors

I am a parent at the school with 2 girls currently attending and 1 who will start when she is a bit bigger.  I have always worked in an administrator capacity and am happy that I will now get to use my skills to assist the school.  We have lived in the Wells area for 11 years and in the South West for 18 years after leaving Scotland for work purposes.
