Autumn 2017/2018

This term our learning quest has been ‘events beyond living memory’. We have found out about the Great Fire of London in 1666 and looked at the life of Florence Nightingale. We have had visits from our local fire engine and local medical professions who have shared information about their jobs today. In RE we have learnt about The Creation story and looked at Laudato si in further detail. We have also found out more information about the Hindu faith. In English we have created a range of exciting texts including stories from familiar settings, fantasy stories, poems and non fiction texts. In our maths lessons we are continuing to work on our fluency, problem solving and reasoning. In addition to this we have been excitedly preparing for our Nativity play ‘Prickly Hay’ which we will perform to parents and friends at the end of December. What a busy term!

Spring Term

Our topic this Spring Term started off with ‘Biscuits’. We read the story Biscuit Bear by Mini Grey and created our own Biscuit Bears. We then wrote instructions on how to do so. We have continued our topic onto learning about ‘Food and its origins’. We will be going on a class trip to a local farm to see cows being milked and how cheese is made.
